Remington College has partnered with CompTIA, the world’s most trusted certifying body of IT professionals, to offer students certifications in a wide variety of technical platforms. We currently offer 12 certification courses that range from fundamentals to more advanced technological platforms and concepts.

Available Courses

  • A+ is the starting point for a career in IT. The performance-based exams certify foundational IT skills across a variety of devices and operating systems. The CompTIA A+ Core Series requires candidates to pass two exams: Core 1 (220-1101) and Core 2 (220-1102) covering the following new content, emphasizing the technologies and skills IT pros need to support a hybrid workforce:
    • Increased reliance on SaaS applications for remote work
    • How to remotely diagnose and correct common software, hardware or connectivity problems
    • Evolving core technologies from cloud virtualization and IoT device security to data management and scripting
    • Multiple operating systems, when to use them and how to keep them running properly
    • Reflects the changing nature of the job, including how to assess if it’s best to fix something on site, or send it to a specialized provider
    These continuing education courses are not included within the scope of the Remington College’s ACCSC institutional accreditation.  
  • Business analysts and IT pros alike are consistently called upon to assist their organization in determining which cloud service provider(s) to use, what to migrate to the cloud, and when to implement. Collecting and analyzing cloud products and services information is essential when making operational cloud business decisions. The financial and operational impacts covered by Cloud Essentials+ ensure an ability to develop and implement solid cloud strategies. CompTIA Cloud Essentials+ will show that successful candidates:
    • Have the knowledge and understanding of the foundational business and technical components included in a cloud assessment
    • Understand specific security concerns and measures
    • Comprehend new technology concepts, solutions, and benefits to an organization

  • CompTIA Cloud+ is a global certification that validates the skills needed to deploy and automate secure cloud environments that support the high availability of business systems and data. CompTIA Cloud+ is the only performance-based IT certification that views cloud-based infrastructure services in the context of broader IT systems operations regardless of the platform. Migrating to the cloud presents opportunities to deploy, optimize, and protect mission critical applications and data storage. CompTIA Cloud+ validates the technical skills needed to secure these valuable assets. The reality of operating multicloud environments poses new challenges. CompTIA Cloud+ is ideal for cloud engineers who need to have expertise across multiple products and systems.   • CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+) is a certification for cyber professionals tasked with incident detection, prevention and response through continuous security monitoring.  Demonstrate your skills in detecting and analyzing indicators of malicious activity using the most up-to-date methods and tools, such as threat intelligence, security information and event management (SIEM), endpoint detection and response (EDR) and extended detection and response (XDR). These continuing education courses are not included within the scope of the Remington College’s ACCSC institutional accreditation.
  • CompTIA Data+ is an early-career data analytics certification for professionals tasked with developing and promoting data-driven business decision-making. Mine data more effectively. Analyze with rigor. Avoid confounding results. Highlight what’s important in reports that persuade, not confuse. Help drive better data-driven decisions. These continuing education courses are not included within the scope of the Remington College’s ACCSC institutional accreditation.
  • CompTIA ITF+ helps professionals to decide if a career in IT is right for them or to develop a broader understanding of IT.
    • ITF+ is the only pre-career certification that helps students or career changers determine if they have a competency for information technology and if it is the right career path for them.
    • ITF+ is the only single certification that covers all areas of IT foundations, creating a broader understanding of IT making it ideal for non-technical professionals.
    •  ITF+ establishes an IT education framework for students in secondary and post-secondary settings.

  • CompTIA Linux+ validates the competencies required of an early career systems administrator supporting Linux systems. Covers the latest foundational skills demanded by hiring managers. Learn all major distributions of Linux, setting the foundation for vendor/distro-specific Knowledge. These continuing education courses are not included within the scope of the Remington College’s ACCSC institutional accreditation.
  • Unlike other vendor-specific networking certifications, CompTIA Network+ prepares candidates to support networks on any platform. CompTIA Network+ is the only certification that covers the specific skills that network professionals need. Gain the knowledge and skills required to design and implement functional networks on the job. These continuing education courses are not included within the scope of the Remington College’s ACCSC institutional accreditation.
  • CompTIA PenTest+ is the only exam on the market covering hands-on vulnerability assessment, scanning and analysis, as well as planning, scoping, and managing weaknesses. CompTIA PenTest+ requires a candidate to demonstrate the most relevant pen testing skills for the cloud, hybrid environments, web applications, Internet of Things (IoT) and traditional on-premises. These continuing education courses are not included within the scope of the Remington College’s ACCSC institutional accreditation.
  • The CompTIA Project+ examination is designed for IT professionals who coordinate or manage small-to-medium-sized projects. Highlights of course include summarizing the properties of project, phases, schedules, roles and responsibilities, and cost controls, as well as identifying the basic aspects of Agile methodology. Predict the impact of various constraint variables and influences throughout the project and explain the importance of risk strategies and activities, and understanding appropriate communication methods of influence and use change control processes within the context of a project. These continuing education courses are not included within the scope of the Remington College’s ACCSC institutional accreditation.
  • Chosen by more corporations and defense organizations than any other certification on the market to validate baseline security skills and for fulfilling the DoD 8570 compliance. The only foundational cybersecurity certification emphasizing hands-on practical skills, ensuring the security professional is better prepared to problem solve a wider variety of today’s complex issues. Gain core cybersecurity knowledge applicable across more of today’s job roles to secure systems, software and hardware. These continuing education courses are not included within the scope of the Remington College’s ACCSC institutional accreditation.
  • CompTIA Server+ is a global certification that validates the hands-on skills of IT professionals who install, manage and troubleshoot servers in data centers as well as on-premise and hybrid environments. The exam covers essential hardware and software technologies of on-premise and hybrid server environments including high availability, cloud computing and scripting. The new exam includes performance-based questions that require the candidate to demonstrate multi-step knowledge to securely deploy, administer and troubleshoot servers. These continuing education courses are not included within the scope of the Remington College’s ACCSC institutional accreditation.
